Arthur’s Seat relief map print
An old volcano in the middle of the city
Arthur’s Seat is the eroded remains of an ancient volcano, rising from Holyrood Park in the middle of Edinburgh. At 6 km across, this frame is close enough to show the city itself: the streets and buildings of the Old Town, the Castle rock to the west, Salisbury Crags curving round the hill, and Duddingston Loch at its foot.
The ground comes from the Scottish Government’s LiDAR survey, which picks out the crags and the hill’s terraced slopes in fine detail. It suits anyone who lived, studied or married in Edinburgh. Move the frame to put your own street at the centre, and give it your own title.
