The Avon as a winding sound beneath the city’s hills
Bath sits in a bowl of hills, and at 64 metres the sea finds every part of it. The Avon becomes a winding sound with Kelston Pit at its deepest, the city itself becomes Bath-under-Sea beside Bath Bay, and the villages along the valley turn into harbours: Port Bathampton, Port Batheaston, Port Bathford.
The headlands that stand above the water are the hills you can see from the city, now named as capes. It makes a good gift for anyone who studied, married or grew up in Bath and loves the sea.
